I do both custom work and offer pieces for sale (locally) through my Instagram page, Facebook page and on Craigslist.

The Refinishing Process

All of my pieces go through a 4-stage refinishing process:

{Stage 1} Repair and Sanding
{Stage 2} Priming
{Stage 3} Paint
{Stage 4} Sealant or Protectant

I use Elmer’s Wood Putty for shallow dents and dings and Bondo filler for deeper areas of repair. I check for structural soundness and smooth drawer tracts in all of my pieces. I seek out pieces with dovetail drawer joints, solid wood design, and original hardware, wheels and legs.

Each of my pieces receive 2-3 coats of latex paint using a commercial paint sprayer. My favorite paint brands include Benjamin Moore, Valspar Reserve and Sherwin Williams.

Finally, I seal and protect each piece. Depending on the look you want to achieve, I offer poly, shellac, glaze and wax finishes.

I offer chair cushion reupholstering. Chairs must have removable seat cushions that screw in to the seat base and have the original foam and wood frame. I can recover chair cushions in a variety of fabrics including cotton, linen, burlap and my specialty - authentic jute coffee bags.
